The Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has announced the release of the list of applicants shortlisted to participate in the 2026 Teachers Recruitment Aptitude Test. This development marks a major step in the ongoing recruitment process aimed at strengthening the state’s basic education sector through the engagement of qualified and competent classroom teachers.
According to the Board, all applicants who submitted their names for consideration are required to visit the Notice Board of their respective Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) to confirm their eligibility. The lists are scheduled to be accessible from Thursday, 1st January 2026, at exactly 11:00 a.m. Candidates are urged to check their names promptly to allow adequate preparation for the forthcoming assessment.

The recruitment aptitude test has been scheduled to hold on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th January, 2026 across designated centers within the state. SUBEB emphasized that only individuals whose names appear on the published shortlist are qualified to sit for the test.
As part of the verification process, successful applicants are further required to report to the Staff Officer’s Office at their respective LGEAs to sign the attendance register, which serves as official confirmation of their participation.
The timetable indicates that the recruitment test will be conducted in phases over the two days, covering all Local Government Areas (LGAs) across Kano State. For Day One, slated for Saturday 10th January, 2026, applicants from LGAs including Makoda, Minjibir, Ajingi, Albasu, Dala, Fagge, Garko, Gaya, Gwale, Kano Municipal, Bagwai, Bichi, Dawakin Tofa, Gari, Tsanyawa, Bebeji, Doguwa, Kiru, Tudun Wada, Gabasawa, Tofa and Garun Malam are expected to take their examinations.
Day Two, scheduled for Sunday 11th January 2026, will cater to candidates from Dambatta, Ungogo, Nassarawa, Sumaila, Yakai, Tarauni, Warawa, Wudil, Kumbotso, Dawakin Kudu, Gwarzo, Madobi, Rimini Gado, Rano, Rogo, Kibiya, Bunkure, Karaye, Gezawa, and Kura LGAs.
To ensure smooth conduct, the Board has designated five major examination centers across the state. These include: Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Dambatta, which will host candidates from Makoda, Minjibir, Dambatta, and Ungogo; Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, for candidates from Ajingi, Albasu, Dala, Fagge, Garko, Gaya, Gwale, Kano Municipal, Nassarawa, Sumaila, Takai, Tarauni, Warawa, Wudil, Kumbotso and Dawakin Kudu.
Other venues include the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, which will cater to applicants from Bagwai, Bichi, Dawakin Tofa, Garo, Shanono, Tsanyawa, Gwarzo, Kabo, Madobi and Rimini Gado. The Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso College of Remedial Studies, Tudun Wada, will accommodate candidates from Bebeji, Doguwa, Kiru, Tudun Wada, Kibiya, Rano and Bunkure.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Audit Computer Centre at Audu Bako Secretariat will serve applicants from Gabasawa, Tofa, Garun Malam, Karaye, Gezawa and Kura.
SUBEB management reiterated that the recruitment exercise is part of the state government’s commitment to improving education standards, addressing teacher shortages, and enhancing learning outcomes across public primary and junior secondary schools. The Board urged all shortlisted candidates to strictly adhere to instructions, arrive early at their venues, and conduct themselves with discipline throughout the exercise.
