
The Nigerian Navy has announced that successful applicants from the NNBTS Batch 38 recruitment exercise conducted on 29 November 2025 can now check their shortlist status online. Candidates whose names appear on the official portal are invited to the interview stage scheduled between 10th January and 21st February, 2026.
Screening activities will be held at two designated centres. Candidates from Northern regions, including North West, North Central and North East zones, are to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. Those from Southern regions, covering South West, South South and South East zones, will attend the session at the Basic Training School, Onne.

Shortlisted applicants must arrive fully prepared with important documents. Requirements include printed application slips, original certificates with photocopies, proof of state or local government origin, national identity evidence, passport-sized photographs, driver’s licence for relevant categories, and writing materials. In addition, Applicants should bring essential personal items such as navy-blue shorts, plain white T-shirts, trainers, stockings, beddings, cutlery and toiletries to ensure comfort throughout the exercise.
Compliance with guidelines, punctuality, discipline and honesty will greatly influence performance during interviews. This phase represents an opportunity for determined youths to demonstrate character, fitness and readiness for national service. Those who meet all conditions and excel during assessments stand a strong chance of progressing to full naval training and subsequent deployment in defence of Nigeria’s territorial waters.

- North Central: 24th Jan – 6th Feb 2026.
