PSC Shortlists Candidates for 2025 Police Recruitment Physical Screening

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has released a circular regarding the next stage of the ongoing 2026 recruitment of 50,000 police constables which is the physical and credential screening of candidates.

The physical screening is scheduled to hold from 9th March to 18th April, 2026. Applicants who successfully completed their online application are anxiously eager to proceed further in the recruitment stages.

Police Constable Screening Date and Nationwide Venues

The Police Constable physical and credential screening will take place across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Each applicant has his/her assigned screening date, time and venue. Candidates must check their invitation slips to confirm their schedules.

This announcement was made at the PSC Headquarters in Abuja, highlighting the importance of the recruitment exercise.

How to Check Police Recruitment Screening Status and Print Invitation Slip

All applicants are to visit the recruitment portal to confirm their screening status.

Visit the NPF 2025 recruitment portal at https://npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, login using your application logins, check your screening status, download and print the required screening documents. Candidates must print and bring the following forms to the venue; guarantors form, their application slip, invitation slip, credentials screening form and physical Screening form.

Failure to present the above documents by the applicants may result in disqualification.

Documents Required for Screening

Applicants must come along with the original copies of the following credentials during the screening:

Recent invitation Slip, Credential Screening Form, National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), O’Level Certificate (WAEC, NECO, or GCE), Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age, Local Government or State of Origin Certificate, Trade Test Certificate (for specialist applicants only) and Completed and signed Guarantors Form with referees’ passport photographs.

You are to arrange your documents as follows:

Original credentials in one white flat file, photocopies in another white flat file, attach recent passport photographs to both files.

Approved Dress Code for Police Physical Screening Exercise

All applicants must appear at the screening venue wearing white T-shirt, shorts, canvas shoes and stockings.

Candidates who fail to comply with the above dress code will not be allowed to participate in the screening exercise.

PSC Warns Candidates Against Fraud and Fake Recruitment Agents

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, emphasized that the recruitment process is completely free and applicants should note pay any amount to any person for recruitment slots.

According to the PSC Chairman, the recruitment exercise is free of charge, no payment is required at any stage, fraudsters and scammers will be arrested and prosecuted.

Candidates are advised to rely only on official PSC and Nigeria Police Force announcements.

What Happens After the Police Physical Screening?

The physical and credential screening is an important stage in the recruitment screening which will determine how far you can go.

Candidates who successfully passed, will proceed to the next stages, which may include medical examination, applicant’s background verification then lastly, training school.

After passing the above processes,  successful candidates will eventually be recruited as Police Constables and deployed nationwide.
