Overview of the Microplanning Exercise

Position Details and Location

Successful applicants will be engaged as Ward Level Consultants (Data Collection Officers) and deployed within specific wards across all states of the federation. This consultancy is short-term and project-based, offering participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public health data gathering while contributing to a nationally significant assignment.

Key Duties and Expectations

Selected consultants will be responsible for conducting structured information gathering activities within assigned wards, following approved methodologies and operational guidelines. Duties include engaging with residents, community leaders, and frontline healthcare personnel to obtain accurate and relevant information.

Participants must ensure all records are complete, reliable, and submitted within stipulated timelines. Proper use of digital collection platforms provided for the exercise is required, along with strict adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards.

Educational Qualifications and Skill Requirements

Applicants must possess at least one of the following qualifications: Ordinary National Diploma (OND), National Certificate in Education (NCE), Higher National Diploma (HND), or a Bachelor’s degree. Academic backgrounds in Public Health, Social Sciences, Statistics, Demography, Community Development, or related disciplines are strongly encouraged.

Previous involvement in surveys, enumeration programs, or community-based research will be considered an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal abilities, clear communication skills, and a high level of accuracy in documentation.

Basic familiarity with mobile-based data tools such as KoboToolbox is desirable, as is the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
