Leventis Foundation Nigeria 2026 Agricultural Training Programme

The Leventis Foundation Nigeria has opened applications for its 2026 Agricultural Training Programme, creating a valuable opportunity for young Nigerians who are passionate about agriculture and agribusiness. The fully funded initiative is designed to equip participants with practical skills in modern and sustainable farming practices, helping to strengthen food security and promote rural economic development across the country.

Established in 1987, the Leventis Foundation Nigeria is a respected charitable organisation dedicated to empowering youths and farmers through quality agricultural training and the responsible use of natural resources. For nearly four decades, the Foundation has remained at the forefront of agricultural capacity building in Nigeria, producing graduates who contribute significantly to farming innovation, agribusiness development, and community transformation.

Six (6) Agricultural Training Schools Across Nigeria

To effectively implement its mission, the Foundation operates six agricultural training schools located in different agro-ecological zones across Nigeria. These schools are strategically situated to reflect the country’s diverse farming environments, including locations in the Federal Capital Territory, Osun State, Kano State, and Gombe State.

The schools are jointly funded by the Leventis Foundation and their respective State Governments, ensuring sustainability and broad access to agricultural education. This partnership model has strengthened the programme’s impact by making high-quality agricultural training available to participants from different backgrounds and regions.

A One-Year Intensive Residential Programme

The 2026 Agricultural Training Programme is structured as a one-year residential course for young men and women who are serious about building careers in agriculture. The programme is hands-on and practice-oriented, focusing on real-world farming systems rather than purely theoretical instruction.

Participants receive intensive training in key areas such as:

  • Crop production techniques
  • Livestock management
  • Agribusiness development
  • Agricultural value chains
  • Farm enterprise management

The curriculum places strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and efficient resource management. Trainees are exposed to modern farming technologies and climate-smart agricultural practices, preparing them to establish and manage profitable agribusiness ventures upon graduation.

By the end of the programme, participants are expected to develop the competence and confidence needed to run independent farm enterprises or become key players within Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.

Fully Funded Training – No Cost to Participants

One of the most remarkable features of the Leventis Foundation Agricultural Training Programme is that it is completely free of charge. Successful candidates enjoy:

  • Free tuition
  • Free accommodation (boarding)
  • Free feeding throughout the training period.

This comprehensive support eliminates financial barriers that often prevent young people from pursuing agricultural education. By covering all essential expenses, the Foundation allows trainees to focus entirely on learning, skill acquisition, and personal development.

This level of support reflects the Foundation’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of skilled, practical farmers who can drive agricultural transformation in Nigeria.
