Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria 2026 Internship Programme Apply Now

Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria has announced the launch of its 2026 Summer Internship Programme, offering ambitious undergraduates a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a leading international financial institution. The internship runs for 10 weeks between June and August 2026 and is designed to prepare young talent for long-term careers in banking and financial services.

The programme is open to penultimate-year students from all academic disciplines who can commit to full participation in June 2026 and are available for full-time employment from July 2027. Applicants must also have the legal right to work in Nigeria. This initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to developing future professionals through structured learning, real workplace exposure, and professional mentorship.

Two internship streams are available. The first is the Client Coverage Internship Programme, which allows participants to work closely with experienced bankers while gaining insight into how client relationships are managed in a global institution. Interns will receive classroom learning combined with on-the-job assignments, mentorship opportunities, and leadership exposure. Placement areas include Corporate Coverage and Financial Institutions Coverage, with roles such as Assistant Relationship Manager and Credit Analyst. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong academic performance, analytical thinking, teamwork, adaptability, effective communication, and sound project coordination abilities.

The second stream is the Treasury Internship Programme, which offers exposure to liquidity management, funding operations, capital strategy, and balance sheet management. Interns will support Treasury Markets operations while learning how financial decisions impact business stability and growth. This track suits individuals who enjoy fast-paced environments, possess strong analytical abilities, maintain high attention to detail, and communicate clearly while working effectively within a team.

Both programmes provide participants with structured training, networking opportunities, and practical learning experiences that strengthen professional confidence and employability. Outstanding performers may also be considered for future graduate employment opportunities within the organisation, making the internship a strategic stepping stone into the banking sector.
